Video Game Player Survey: 76% of U.S. Adults Online Play Games

Three out of four U.S. adults who are online (76%) play games on devices: 43% play on smartphones, 30% on laptops, 27% on consoles, 25% on desktops, and 22% on tablets. The three most widely owned pets are dogs (51%), cats (38%), and fish (9%), according to a recent Researchscape survey of 1,000 U.S. adults. Only a third of Americans do not currently own any pets (32%). The majority of dog owners own 1 dog (63%), but another quarter own 2 dogs (25%), and 12% own 3 or more dogs.  ..

Half of U.S. adults think that the Internet does more to help than hurt democracy, but only 32% believe that social-media sites like Facebook and Twitter do so (38% say social media hurts democracy, and 30% say it has no impact). As one respondent said, "With the internet becoming more readily available in the world, more people are exposed to the vast quantities of information found online.
